We Thank Thee, Oh God for a Prophet

"SALT LAKE CITY 27 January 2008 President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through twelve years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97.

President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since 12 March 1995.

The Church president died at his apartment in downtown Salt Lake City at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night from causes incident to age. Members of his family were at his bedside. I put this picture on here because although it is sad that he has passed away, I believe he wanted to be back with his wife and now is with her. You could tell how much he loved her anytime he ever mentioned her.

Pump It Up!

We went to Pump It Up for the January Family Birthday dinner. Carson wanted to play with the grown-ups and box so Harris and Carson had a little boxing match. It was funny since Carson the gloves were the same size as him and he couldn't even move!

I decided to use the "poop" green color. I actually like it. Anyways Carson went on his first sledding trip. He loved it soooo much but I'm kind of a freak when it comes to sledding because for me it's fine if I fall of and break my tail bone or who knows what, but for my little baby to do that would be seriously horrible. Carson, though, had absolutely no fear and went down the deathly, icy hill over and over on his "boat." He looks so cute and happy that I've actually taken him 2 more times so far since he loves it so much.

New Year's Resolutions

I know it's been the new year for weeks now but I have so many goals this year. My first and most important goal that I've made is to read The Book Of Mormon every single day. I have had this goal so many times before and failed miserably. This time there is a very important purpose behind it. I won't say what that purpose is but it has been very motivational for me. I fear that if I miss a day the entire purpose will be ruined, so I am happy to say I haven't missed 1 single day so far. The other night I went to bed and had forgotten, so I got up at about 1:30 am and read them. I am very determined this time.
My second goal is to become a great runner. I enjoy running, and I would say I have pretty good endurance, but this year my focus will be speed. I didn't race much last year but the goal this year is to do more races and to beat my times in the races I did do last year. I feel like this has become something I feel good at. My own thing that I can just compete against myself and not my friends or family and to become great at and try to always progress and do better.
Third, I want to get our house really nice...in case things happen to give us a chance to move...I want to be ready. I want to fix it up nice; nice yard, nice carpet; organized; maybe new paint; stain the back deck...lots of projects.
Fourth, I want a Hawaii body. We will be going this summer and I want to be tan and fat free! I need to be more strict again about what I eat.
I really would love to accomplish all of these goals and hope I do! Happy Late New Year!

PJ Tradition

On Christmas Eve we have a Tradition of opening one present. We always know what it's going to be...pajamas! So here's a family picture of us all cozy in our pj's This was the best Christmas ever because Misty, Scott, and McKenzie were there, Carson enjoyed watching the video of baby Jesus and then we sang songs around the piano (yes this is my family we are talking about) and it was such a fun night.
