Pageant Nerves

As I am finishing up all of the loose ends, getting ready for the pageant weekend starting tomorrow, I am having a difficult time controlling my nerves. Surprise, surprise! I am emotional, what can I say? I have been thinking about this experience a lot, and continuing to remind myself of the purpose I have decided to go through something like this. I am looking forward to this, and to feel the relief when it is over on Sunday, whatever the outcome because I have learned so much about myself and had to really look deep and rely on my Heavenly Father to keep me grounded through it all. One experience I had a few weeks ago made me question why I wanted to be Mrs. Idaho. My feelings were hurt and I felt extremely unimportant. I definitely wanted to give up. Feeling down and unmotivated I continued to ask myself over and over, why am I doing this? Is it to feel better about myself, because I certainly didn't at the moment. I spent most of the weekend pitying myself. Then, finally I snapped out of it, at this point a little angry about the things I had been bothered by, now fired up. I have had so much support from my family and friends. They love me and care about me. Just because one person might not feel that way, do I really care? Nope. I don't. If I could tell that person again why I want to be Mrs. Idaho, it would be because I love my family. The greatest joy in my life comes from being a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Each of these things have strengthened me and given me a desire to be a better person. I feel there is a need for more role models that are examples of good. That family, service, and faith are what will always be there for us. While it is important to feel good about ourselves on the outside, where will that get us if we don't feel good about ourselves on the inside? My family will always be the most important priority in my life! Thank you to all of you for supporting me in this adventure. I hope the spirit can be with me through the weekend to remember why I am here. Thanks Harris, for your support and encouragement! You've helped me more than you know! I love you!

Happy Easter!

I love Easter. It's such a meaningful holiday. I'm so grateful for so many things this year. Here are a few pictures of how we celebrated our holiday.

We started out with an Easter Egg Hunt at the family birthday dinner. Carson really looks forward to this event. Here he is getting ready to begin the hunt. What a stinkin' cute face! I love that boy.

During Spring Break we were able to go visit Misty, Scott, and McKenzie, and the two little babies in the belly. We had a great time staying with them, and wish we had stayed longer after the torturous drive home! The weather was pretty terrible. It was almost like Christmas break instead of Spring Break! So due to the lack of things to do in the cold, we entertained ourselves and kids and made these cute little bunny ears. We always tease Amelia of looking like a bunny with her two front rabbit teeth, so this pic was very fitting :)

Then, of course we dyed Easter Eggs. Carson's fingers are still stained but look at our colorful little eggs!

These two are just so cute. I love them and am grateful to celebrate a holiday that means so much to me, and for the blessing of Eternal families, so I can be with my incredible family forever!
