Shower Time

Taking a shower is a little scary these days. First incident, I come out of the shower and notice Amelia's door shut (which wasn't shut before). Yikes! I open it to see a look of horror on Amelia's face and Carson pushing her in her swing full speed! Well, she'll grow up to not be scared of amusement park rides. She'll be a great Disneyland partner!

Second incident. I was in the shower and, learning from last experience had Amelia in her crib. I heard her wake up and was crying, so tried to hurry and finish. I get out and run to her rescue, and Carson was INSIDE the crib, shoving her pacifier in her mouth and holding her (with neck hanging) trying to comfort her. Sweet of him, yes, but I would have never guessed he could have or would have been able to climb in the crib himself. I guess the only safe place is locked in the bathroom with me!

Now for more pics:

We decided to have a "camp in" last weekend. We popped popcorn and watched Tale of Despereaux as a family. Look how cozy!

These are just super cute pj's (thanks Nikki). It helps to have such a cute girl to put them on too!

Best brother ever (except while showering).

Amelia and Grandma Sheri.

Amelia 1 week old. I love her in purple.

Carson had a sleepover with Whitney at Grandma's house. They stayed up til near 1:00 am and woke up at 6:30 am. This is the result later that afternoon. Wiped out!

Carson totally slept this way too. And yay! She's in her crib! She's been sleeping in it for a few nights now.

Amelia is getting more used to life out of the womb (and I am working on that too). Last week was pretty rough for a few days. Each night she cried for about 2 hours and then would throw up all over. I thought I might die if this was what I would deal with for however long. I took her to the Dr. and didn't get much help, except for that it probably wasn't Reflux (phew) and had something to do with her formula. So Harris and I went to Walmart with our thinking caps and looked at every possible formula. We knew Amelia had a sensitive stomach (not gas, not colic, etc) so, it was like the most amazing thing, to find this formula (guess what it's called: "Sensitive") right in front of our eyes. We thought we'd give it a whirl. A total answer to my prayers, no throw up that night! Or ever since! It's such a simple thing but I know Heavenly Father helped me with this situation that was so overwhelming for me. I'm so grateful. I think she's getting more and more content with her new formula, and hopefully she will start gaining weight. She is still under her birth weight but I feel confident that she is getting better. Babies are sure hard, but they are such a miracle!

New Arrival!

Amelia Jane McMullin was born on July 6th, 2009 at 3:42 pm. She was 7 lbs. 2 oz, and 20 inches long. I was induced at 7:00 am that morning. Everything was incredibly smooth and better than I could have ever asked for! She is so beautiful and sweet. I love her so much and am so blessed that she is healthy and perfect! She is an amazing addition to our family. Carson loves her and is going to be a great big brother!

Waiting around after the epideral. Anxious to see our baby girl.

Here she is! I love her so much!

Carson's first time holding her, right after delivery! He was so excited.

Happy 4th of July!

We started on Monday our preparation to the holiday by tye dying shirts! It was the first time we had done it but it was pretty fun!

On the 4th we were invited to our awesome friends' 1st Annual Fourth of July Neil Diamond Fans for Life Pancake Fest! The pancakes were delicious, and I'm not usually a pancake fan. Great homemade syrup by Kami. We had a good time hanging out with friends! We went home and made dessert and salad for the BBQ. Then we noticed our raspberries! There were millions, so we went out and picked them for over an hour!!! But it was so worth it! We can sure pack those down!

Later that night we had a BBQ with my fam and enjoyed Dad's famous firework show!!! We are all still alive and not blown up so we had a great time! Carson's face when we watched was pretty priceless! He really loves fireworks! We have our own, gheddo show tonight to celebrate his last night as a single child! We are looking forward to that and anyone who wants to join, it will include a sweet tank fight!

I made it through the 4th without a baby, which I was actually trying to do, since my wonderful doctor was gone Friday and Saturday. Now we're free game, but planning on induction tomorrow! Wow!!!!! I can't imagine not being pregnant anymore, since it feels like I have been FOREVER!! A little nervous and excited all at once, and I'm pretty sure I won't sleep much tonight, but luckily we have to be there by 7 am! I'm curious how big she will be. I don't imagine she's bigger than 9 lbs, but probably not smaller than 7 1/2. Any guesses? Carson is excited to be a big brother and I think he'll be an awesome one! Can't wait to see the little baby girl!

First Day of Swimming Lessons

Carson did swimming lessons a couple weeks ago at Roaring Springs. He had a great time (which is good since they were a waste of money). I'd have to say I wasn't impressed with the lessons that seemed to only consist of them walking around in the water with the kids holding on to them, while occasionally blowing bubbles. Anyways, I won't vent anymore about that. Poor little Carson was in swimming lessons probably during the 2 coldest weeks of June! He was such a trooper though and didn't hesitate to get in the water every morning! I'd also have to say I'm a whimp because I was honestly trying to hold back tears on the first day! I am going to have a killer time on the first day of school if I have such issues! I just love this little boy and get sad to see him grow so fast!
